1. Norway was targeted in Cyber-attack
According to Norwegian authorities, the public and private sector websites were temporarily down in a DDoS cyberattack targeting the national data network, causing online service to be suspended overnight, but there was no significant damage.
Authorities did not identify the motive for the hacking but speculated that there was a pro-Russian-based hacker group that attempted cyberattacks.
The attack on Norwegian websites came a few days after Lithuania reported similar hacking targeting public and private institution websites.
2. Lithuania was hit by cyberattacks that targeted the country’s public and private websites
Lithuania’s Ministry of Defense claims that Lithuanian state companies and organizations have been attacked by DDoS, adding it was retaliation by the Russian cybercrime group Killnet. They also said, “Similar attacks will continue in the future, especially in transport, energy, and finance sectors.”
3. Threats to cybersecurity: The biggest risks to National security
According to New Delhi Cyber Security Coordinator who is Rajesh Pant said at DX Secure Summit “The threat to cybersecurity is one of the greatest risks to national security, and the awareness and building of cybersecurity in the country is critical.”
