Xiaoqiying, the Chinese hacker group that claimed responsibility for the attacks had hacked into 79 websites and threatened to make public personal data stolen from there.

2. Russian cyber gang Killnet brings down websites of 14 top US hospitals and universities – including Stanford and Duke

Killnet, a pro-Russia group known for distributed denial of service (DDoS) attacks over the past year, says it took down the websites of 14 US hospitals. These include Stanford Healthcare, Duke University Hospital and Cedars-Sinai.

3. JD Sports hit by cyber-attack that leaked 10m customers’ data

The fashion retailer JD Sports said the personal and financial information of 10 million customers was potentially accessed by hackers in a cyber-attack. The company said information that may have been accessed by hackers included names, billing and delivery addresses, phone numbers, order details and the final four digits of payment cards.
